Condensed 5-day introduction to Advanced Public Order Commander Training. Focused on the mechanism of effective command and control the course develops knowledge and understanding of Metropolitan Police Key subject areas that underpin public order rationale and critical decision making.

Main topics will introduce the role police play within protest and disorder command structures, roles, responsibilities, strategy, tactical plans and the police decision making model.

Subject matter will include:

Intelligence, threat/ risk, lethal frameworks
Crowd dynamics
Recce
Media firearms in public disorder and Audit trails.

Through group and individual participation, students will develop their thinking, culminating in a tabletop public protest exercise. This course forms and excellent theoretical foundation prior to tactical development (Module2 – recce/workbook) and practical assessment (Module 3 • Briefing and scenario command training).
