Arm clinch worked!

“Hello Sir,

While on Patrol responding to a call about a suspicious male individual, I spotted the suspect and initiated a stop. As I proceeded toward the individual I conducted my investigation and that determined that I place him in handcuffs.

The individual was not complying with my instructions to place his hands behind his back so I then proceeded closer to him and grabbed his right arm attempting to utilize a over and under grip but he pulled his arm back, immediately as he pulled back and I saw he had his right leg back I knew he was going to punch me with his right hand. So I bursted forward with both my guards up and closed the distance while his hook punch went around the left side of my head and did somewhat of something similar to the tactical clinch but instead I was in the inside line and had my right arm braced against his neck and my left arm wrapped around his right arm. during the struggle I felt he was strong so I immediately transitioned into the arm clinch that I learned from my Tricom Fundamentals Course I am currently taking. While in the arm clinch now on the outside line, I spun my right leg around and took him down to the ground pinning my shoulder and weight on his shoulder and transitioned into the control Position and had him face his palm up and cross his legs then proceeded to handcuffing.

I would just like to say thank you for showing me life saving Techniques that helped me under real life pressure. I will continue to practice the course and still in week #8.

Thank you again Tuhon Jared.”
